Seams on Beams ✂️🧵

So excited to sew this cute Bakerloo dress from Nina Lee. I much prefer to support small independent pattern companies when possible and Nina is based in London, hence the London themed pattern names!

This Coeli Boise from Pauline Alice caught my eye months ago but I’m a little intimidated by it! It’s a lot of fabric for a top because of the folds but I will give it a go!

This is a simple waistcoat pattern I bought on Etsy from Boo Lè that I printed and need to stick together and cut out/trace. I have black velvet in mind and fancy adding FAO me jazzy buttons!

I bought this pattern with a wedding in mind for last May which was cancelled for obvious reasons. It lives in the back of my head so that when I find an amazing fancy fabric fit for it I’ll be inspired.

I have already sewn this Merchant and Mills 101 trouser pattern twice, a pair of lined pjs and a pair of shorts. I have some beautiful copper brown linen in mind for the next pair although it’s too cold here in Scotland for linen, maybe I’ll have to find some corduroy?

Doesn’t look too exciting because I didn’t print the instructions (save paper! 🌎) but I’m looking forward to spring to sew this By Hand London wrap dress.

Ilford jacket by Friday Pattern Company. I love this pattern and I love this company! I’ve started not one, but TWO of these and haven’t finished either. The button holes are making me want to cry and the sleeve plackets on the version for @mike are driving me mad. But I will persevere!! ✂️

Another Friday Pattern Company one, this time the Wilder gown which I have already made twice!! (I have a beams list about this pattern). I love this pattern and it’s perfect for a beginner sewist who doesn’t think they can make something beautiful. The instructions are clear (and encouraging!) and there’s quite a few versions you can make. I’m going to sew the top version next!

Another favourite pattern that I want to sew again from another cool indie brand. Paper theory Zadie jumpsuit. All I can say is if you want a comfortable jumpsuit that everyone will compliment you on them this is for you! Have sewn two already and have wild dreams of sewing it again in twill or in a jersey for Pajamas!

Have sewn myself a gingham Tilly and the Buttons Indigo dress (all French seams) a few months ago (I have a beams list about the process!) but the fit just isn’t right and it wasn’t my favourite to sew. Saying that they are a great indie company with fabulously clear and concise instructions and they have a great YouTube channel with tips and sew alongs ☺️ Will try to amend the fit of my Indigo and then maybe sew another!

Tilly and the Buttons Lolita. I have an idea in my head for this one, I want a nice floaty fabric with a floral print. Just need to find the perfect one!

Just a quick note to show how I currently store my patterns once I have cut them out. I recycle old envelopes/folders and store all the cut out pattern pieces along with the original pattern together. I also add some notes if necessary to help me next time I use the pattern.
