When people think about ‘filter coffee’ they often have a black liquid in mind. When I think about it, I have a beautiful red, soft, bright drink in mind. Almost like tea....

Whenever I drink coffee, I do not think always of coffee beans. I try to think the drink as a terroir. By that I mean that each bean, depending from where it was grown will have its specific characteristics. It is not the same drinking a ‘Geisha’ that was grown in Panama than one from Costa Rica, Colombia, Ethiopia. When drinking filter coffee, you get to experience a more brighter and aromatic drink then with espresso.

I drank very exclusive coffees in the last year. This ‘SIDRA - Special Preparations’ from ‘Granja La Esperanza’, roasted by ‘La Cabra’ in Denmark was one of the most exciting coffees I had.

Let’s start talking about the brew methods themselves. There is A LOT of equipment available and each one of them will give you different results and by that different cups of coffee. This one is the ‘AEROPRESS’. The device consists of two nesting cylinders. One cylinder has a flexible airtight seal and fits inside the larger cylinder, similar to a syringe.
